Drax Power Station

The coal-fired station was commissioned and built in two stages, the first in 1974 and the second twelve years later in 1986. Dublin Airport Terminal 1

Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 was built in 1972 as an addition to the original 1940 building, which still forms the centrepiece of the airport today. Following the opening of Terminal 2 in 2010, Terminal 1 is now used exclusively by Ryanair. Originally designed to handle 5 million passengers annually, the building was substantially refurbished for its new role as Ryanair’s primary hub.

Built by DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority), at a cost of more than Dh10 billion it can produce over 2 mega watts of electricity and 140 million imperial gallons of desalinated water per day - around 20 per cent of Dubai’s current requirements.
